Sarah Wright, MA, AMFT, APCC
Individual, Couples, Child & Adolescent Therapy
Much of who we are is shaped in relationship, through the ways we have been loved, understood, misunderstood, and the expectations we have learned to carry. Sarah is interested in how these experiences live within us, often outside of our awareness, influencing how we relate to ourselves and others. She approaches therapy as a space for curiosity, where we can explore our inner worlds with fascination rather than judgment. Therapy offers an opportunity to shine a light on familiar stories, reconsider what we have come to believe about ourselves, give expression to unspoken feelings, and rediscover parts of ourselves that have been overlooked or set aside.
Sarah works with adults, couples, children, and adolescents navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, parenting, identity, and life transitions. She is particularly interested in the inner lives of women, including the complexities of motherhood, desire, belonging, and the ways we come to understand ourselves through the eyes of others. Her work explores the tension between who we have learned to be and who we might become when given the space to listen more closely to ourselves.
Rooted in depth psychology and psychodynamic and attachment-based approaches, Sarah's work honors the unconscious, the imagination, and the often-surprising ways meaning emerges through relationships. Before becoming a therapist, she spent more than a decade working as an actor, an experience that continues to inform her appreciation for creativity, storytelling, and the many ways we express what cannot always be put into words. She brings a thoughtful, compassionate, and sometimes playful presence to the therapeutic space, believing that even in our most difficult moments, there is room for discovery.
Sarah is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. She holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and completed her clinical training at The Place Within, where she worked with adults, couples, adolescents, and children navigating a wide range of emotional and relational experiences.
She provides in-person therapy in Pasadena and Studio City, as well as virtual therapy for clients throughout California. She is supervised by Dr. Rebecca Lesser Allen, PsyD (PSY 30656)
