About the Workshop
In this virtual workshop, open to mothers at any stage of parenting, we will explore and discuss themes relevant to the identity transformation of new motherhood. We will also utilize an Internal Family Systems (IFS) framework to learn strategies for increased self-compassion and normalization of some of the universal internal conflicts and psychological experiences of motherhood and matrescence.
The workshop covers the following six themes:
Birth: Process the monumental experience of giving birth in a safe and supportive space. Listen to others’ birth stories.
Body: Explore your relationship to your physical body as it evolves in motherhood. Discuss your healing from pregnancy and birth.
Partnership/Village: How has motherhood impacted your partnership? Explore the navigation of conflict in parenthood, evolving roles, and support in your life.
Sexuality: Discussion of sex, sexuality and intimacy in motherhood and midlife.
Career: What do work and career look like in the transition to motherhood? How have your relationships to your passions and interests outside of motherhood evolved over time? Discussion of shifts in priorities and interests, finding balance, and navigating internal conflict.
Your Mother/Origins: Exploration of your relationship with your mother and the role generational dynamic play in your motherhood journey.
